Special Olympics athletes and Carolina students team up
Unified Sports is a Special Olympics program that brings people with and without intellectual disabilities together on the same teams. Here at Carolina, UNC-Chapel Hill students can compete alongside Special Olympics athletes in flag football and kickball through Campus Recreation.
A community of athletes
With competitions ranging from flag football and volleyball to wallyball and cornhole, the intramural sports program provides structured leagues for the entire Carolina community. Each semester, the program hosts more than a dozen co-ed leagues and tournaments.
Few words, many deeds, all for love
Willie Scroggs, a longtime athletic administrator responsible for operations and construction of numerous athletic buildings, will retire at the end of June.
