Matson played on four NCAA Championship teams and five ACC Championship teams. She was a three-time recipient of the Honda Sport Award for Field Hockey, becoming just the second player ever — after Karen Shelton — to win that honor three times.
Sagula has led the Carolina volleyball program since 1990, coaching the Tar Heels to 10 Atlantic Coast Conference championships and 15 NCAA Tournament appearances.
Shelton is the winningest coach in the sport's history, with a career record of 745-172-9. She also leads the way in NCAA championships as well as NCAA Tournament appearances, victories and games played.
Carolina will face UCLA in the finals on Monday at 6 p.m. as the Tar Heels look to secure the 22nd NCAA National Championship in program history.
