‘Spread the good news of research at Carolina’
Chancellor Lee H. Roberts and Penny Gordon-Larsen encourage Tar Heels to explore Carolina research’s “life-changing power.”

Every day, students, faculty and staff at UNC-Chapel Hill contribute to Carolina’s research impact, groundbreaking work that improves the quality of life for all people.
For the next week, major schools and programs across campus will partner to showcase the breadth and impact of research done every day by dedicated Tar Heels, Chancellor Lee H. Roberts and Penny Gordon-Larsen, vice chancellor for research, announced via video.
“We see an urgent need to tell the story” of this work, Roberts said.
Research “touches every corner of our University,” from labs and classrooms to playing fields, Gordon-Larsen said. “Tar Heels are driving discoveries that benefit all 100 North Carolina counties.”
She and Roberts encouraged Tar Heels to learn about and share the news of Carolina research:
- Read stories about the discoveries and work by UNC-Chapel Hill research on the UNC.edu and the UNC Research websites.
- Connect with UNC Research on Instagram and LinkedIn and find more University accounts on the social media directory webpage.
- Explore research at individual school or department websites.
