Carolina Dining Services transitioning to cashless payment
The change, which takes effect June 23, is designed to reduce transaction times and improve service.

Carolina Dining Services is committed to providing a safe, efficient and enjoyable dining experience for students, faculty, staff and visitors across campus. As part of this commitment, all Carolina Dining Services locations will transition to a cashless payment system beginning Monday, June 23.
This change is designed to reduce transaction times and improve service at our dining locations. Accepted forms of payment will include credit and debit cards, Flex dollars, Carolina Convenience, Employee Express Plan and digital payment methods.
For students, the UNC One Card provides flexible ways to pay at dining locations. Students may use existing meal plans, Flex dollars or Carolina Convenience accounts. Flex and Carolina Convenience value can be added to cards online or at the One Card Office. Carolina Convenience funds can also be added at Tar Heel Tellers located in the McColl Building and the R.B. House Undergraduate Library.
For employees, we encourage participation in the Employee Express Plan. This plan allows permanent employees to use their UNC One Card for purchases at all Carolina Dining Services locations, with purchase costs deducted automatically from their next payroll check. Employees who use the plan receive a 30% discount at Chase Dining Hall and Top of Lenoir Dining Hall. You may enroll online for immediate activation or visit the UNC One Card Office to set up your plan. Additional details and instructions are available on the UNC One Card website.
Thank you for your cooperation as we make this change to better serve the University community. For more information, including answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the Carolina Dining Services cashless transition page.
